I feel change is an important topic right now all over the world and particularly 2010 is a major year of change I’m sure you all agree…
Most of us have been through times (or going through times) where we weren’t quite happy with our situation but basically settled because of comfort and familiarity. At times sacrificing our dreams and passions because of a sense of security. The definition of homeostasis is a tendency “to live with existing conditions and avoid change”.
There are two types of people – those who settle and those who don’t. There are those who take risks and ones who stick with what’s safe.
To create change you need to step out of that comfort zone and little bit by bit step further and further away till before you know it you are miles away from where you were and have achieved more then you ever dreamed you could!
Change can be exciting and incredibly scary at the same time. Think back to a time when you were anticipating a major change like moving town, changing jobs, starting a family and so on. I remember as I was growing up we were moving often, and changing schools quite frequently. It was a dreadful feeling and I would anticipate the awkward first day at school for weeks ahead. Yes it was awkward and yes it was scary but in the end always better then I had anticipated.
I’ve learned that the sooner we begin to trust the process of change and “flow” with the universe and what is on offer the more happy and content we will ultimately be. We cant always see the reasons for how and why things happen the way they do, but if you only wait it will be clear and in hind sight you will see there truly was a bigger and better plan waiting for you! Learn to trust that the universe truly has a better perspective on the bigger picture. The universe is not a vacuum and as such when something leaves there is always a replacement of that energy, it only transforms.
Can you imagine a life without change? When change comes relax and have faith that change is fantastic and something more magnificent is on the way to you.
I would like to give you a little challenge! For the next 30 days to do something each and every day that you have never done before! It can be as little as smiling at each and ever person you see or as big as going bungy jumping! I think you will be very surprised with yourself by the end of the 30 days. Keep me posted and share this with anyone you feel would benefit!
Blessings

Hey Yamuna,
That’s a GREAT idea! A 30-day challenge can really kick-start a new direction for us. I think once we’re focused on an achievable goal, just taking it one day at a time is certainly doable.
Life will throw challenges at us …to see how committed we are, and that’s good too. It provides an opportunity to re-evaluate and perhaps make some course adjustments.
…to Your Success!

Hi Chris, Thanks very much. Well said regarding focusing on a achievable goal. As I was saying to Val sometimes change can be quite daunting and pacing is the key. I dont know about everyone else but this year has already thrown huge changes at me and i’m trying to take it day by day. Although having said that it is also very important to have your long term goals established and rest happens by itself! So exciting!

Hi Val, I appreciate you feedback and thank you! Yes I think it can be something fun to do and who knows what you could achieve! Some people are really scared of change so taking little steps is easy way to eventually make BIG CHANGE!

Enjoy your inspiring writing here! Yes, “Change

give us the greatest rewards.
I love having new things ahead of me and while
clicking through it all we get to keep peeking
back to see the values big or small… That can
be a motivating boost in itself to keep going:)

Right on Robin! Yeah I think some people handle change better then others. I love change, even just re-arranging the house which i did recently gave me a fresh boost of energy. I’m a big fan of clearing out the old to make way for the new also which I have also been doing a lot of lately. Thanks for your comment Robin!

LOL
I like setting myself challenges and what I use too is people to hold me accountable to following through!! People like you no doubt…

WOW this is a great post. Its interesting people resist change, however if you take it with 2 hands, the results are amazing!! Love the idea of a “30 day Challenge”
Thanks again
